East Caln Township was created in
1728 in the center of Chester County
along the Lancaster Turnpike, which
is now U.S. Rt. 30. The Township is
presently 4.4 square miles in area
and the 2000 U.S. Census count
showed a population of 2,857. The
governing body of the Township is an
elected three member Board of
Supervisors.
